Thank you for your interest in being a part of Shelter Rock Day Of Blessings! We are grateful for the tremendous response from people like you who share the love of Jesus with others throughout Appalachia by participating in preparations for our Day Of Blessings. Since 2001, over 6,000 tons of food and medicine have been distributed to over 95,000 people! With you and thousands of other dedicated volunteers we know we can accomplish even more. There are several ways you can participate: Serve With Your Area Team You can be a part of promoting and coordinating Day Of Blessing events by joining a group of dedicated volunteers who plan and implement all local event distribution gifting activities. Under the supervision of a leadership team, volunteers serve in the areas of collections, church relations, community relations, media relations, and prayer. Contact Shelter Rock administration for more information. NOTE: Area teams have not been developed in all Day Of Blessing locations. Serve at Shelter Rock Dedicated volunteers manage more than 57 tons of food and medication each month, share their musical gifts and work in all areas of audio and video production. These men and women work closely with our local coordinators to implement the logistical efforts of gifting the life provisions as well as sharing their talents in the various facets of this ministry. This opportunity is generally unlimited and available year round. The period before a Day Of Blessing is most often the busiest with the greatest need. Each Tuesday presents another opportunity for volunteering at the Boone location as needy families of Appalachia are served from the Shelter Rock site. Inspect and prepare food, toiletry and medical boxes at the Shelter Rock Center near Boone. We operate from a large 22,000 sq. ft. center seven miles from Boone, NC year round to inspect gifts received. They are then prepared for shipment to needy families throughout Appalachia. Individuals who want to serve must schedule their times in advance. Pray! Become part of our network of hundreds of committed people who support this ministry in prayer. A monthly newsletter and periodic e-mail updates are sent out to prayer partners. This is a great opportunity for existing prayer groups.
