SRM of Boone, North Carolina, Steven Reese
Established in 2001, SRM has been ministering to the poor of the Appalachian Mountains for over a decade. Steven Reese of SRM utilizes a specific distribution tactic that allows hundreds of impoverished families to be served and ministered to at one time. This tactic is called the Day of Blessing Event. The Day of Blessing Event keeps a festival atmosphere with edifying activities to help the needy change the way they see themselves. Recipients are taught about the Love of Jesus, they are given an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior, and then their physical needs are met with a drive-through-style distribution.
After a successful decade of ministry—including over 100,000 families served, over 10,000 decisions for Christ and over 1,000 outreach events—SRM and Steven Reese continue to expand their efforts to the Native American Reservations of the Northwest. Locations such as Boulder, Colorado and the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming and other reservations surrounded by extreme poverty.
For example, Boulder, CO is a central location to over 100 Native American reservation. The Uprising of ministry on the reservations are directed toward isolated pockets of poverty. On these reservations, average annual incomes are as low as $5,000 per year.
This continued expansion is exponentially growing the outreach efforts of SRM and its partners.
